About Kylie
I spent most of my life in the corporate world, struggling with my weight. Despite trying various diets and exercises, my willpower always faded.
Hypnotherapy was life-changing for me. It helped me stop fixating on food, gradually lose weight, gain more energy, and develop newfound confidence and control.
This transformative experience inspired me to pursue hypnotherapy professionally. I returned to study, became fully qualified, and now I’m passionate about helping others on their wellness journeys.

What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis and self-hypnosis are natural states of heighted focus and suggestibility, often experienced unknowingly. In this heightened state, the conscious mind recedes, granting direct access to the unconscious mind, which significantly influences our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours more than our conscious mind. Through our unconscious, we can access suppressed or repressed memories, emotions, and events, uncovering the root causes of our feelings and behaviours. This enables us to quickly rewire, reinforce, modify, or eliminate these elements.

Common myths about hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is often misunderstood, leading to several myths that can deter people from experiencing its benefits.
Here are four of the most common misconceptions to help you gain a clearer understanding of what hypnotherapy truly entails.

Myth #1: Hypnosis is only a form of entertainment and makes you do silly things
Stage hypnosis differs significantly from one-on-one therapy hypnosis. On stage, volunteers are willing and extroverted. In therapy, similar techniques achieve a deep trance, but the goals differ. You won’t do anything against your will or lose control. Instead, you’ll feel more in control of your mind, facilitating positive change.
Myth #2: Hypnosis causes loss of consciousness or amnesia.
Most people remember everything from their hypnosis session. You stay aware of who you are, where you are, and recall what happened during the session.
Myth #3: You’re under the control of your hypnotherapist when you’re hypnotised.
Your hypnotherapist guides you through hypnosis, but the process is self-driven. You remain in control and won’t do anything against your will or reveal secrets. Hypnosis enhances your receptiveness to suggestions without forcing any experiences.
Myth #4: Hypnosis is just deep sleep.
Hypnosis isn’t sleep. In deeper forms, you may appear asleep due to stillness, but you’re fully awake.
